So… We Bought a Farm

Updated: May 29

Our origin story!

It all started with a whisper—one of those quiet, persistent voices that comes from deep within. The kind you try to ignore because it sounds a little too crazy. But it keeps showing up. At the grocery store, scrolling Instagram, driving past vacant land, in the middle of your 9-to-5 Zoom call. Until one day, you answer the call.

And that’s exactly how we got here!

Like most americans, we did not have the pleasure of being born on a farm. We didn’t grow up tilling soil or wrangling goats. In fact, for most of our adult life, we meddled in corporate America, crunching numbers and playing it safe. Or so it seemed.

The Pivot No One Saw Coming

In early 2022, we made a decision that changed everything. After years of corporate hustle, debt stress, and that relentless tug toward something more, we took a leap that most would only dare to daydream about. We bought farm land. Its not much to some but were proud of our 100 acres of wild, overgrown soil tucked away in a quaint town on the eastern coast. Land that once held whispers of history now waits for legacy. We named it Jacobs Haven, and just like that, the story began.

This isn’t one of those “we cashed out and moved to the country” fairy tales. It’s a real, raw, sunburned, bug-bitten, mud-stained climb toward something radical: freedom.

The Vision That Feeds Generations

While most would wait for the “perfect time” to begin—we knew time wasn’t promised. So we leaned into risk and traded comfort for legacy. One acre at a time, we aim to turn this red clay into a living, breathing ecosystem. With calloused hands, late-night research sessions, and a greenhouse just starting to hum with seedlings, Jacobs Haven is becoming a refuge—not just for our family, but for the community we aim to build around it.

Picture this: Five acres of heirloom vegetables and fruit trees flourishing in neat, colorful rows. An apiary buzzing with life, churning out jars of liquid gold. Rows of fragrant herbs and bright seasonal blooms bound to go from our farm stands to your kitchen.

Let’s be honest—starting a farm from the ground up isn’t glamorous. It’s exhausting, chaotic, and messy. But it’s also wildly beautiful. At Jacobs Haven, you’ll find no polished perfection. You’ll find dirt under fingernails, weeds that mock your plans, and morning routines built around chickens and checklists. You’ll also find hard-earned joy- and we aim to document it all: the highs, the fails, the real talk behind scaling a farm with zero background and 100% heart. Not just the dreamy parts, but the realities—because someone needs to see what it actually takes to build something from nothing.

Our goal isn’t just to farm. It’s to inspire anyone who’s ever felt stuck in a life that doesn’t match their soul. Jacobs Haven is the blueprint. Proof that it’s never too late to bet on yourself.
